PON AND ZI

Thomas outlines each figure on plain paper and make the outline in ink. When the image is finished he scans the contours and color to the whole.[citation needed] Thomas wanted to avoid sex-determining his characters since his goal is that everyone should be able to recognize themselves as Pon and Zi. They may be two males, two females, or a female and a male, to allow readers to better identify with the characters. Pon and Zi are two characters in a webcomic created by Jeff Thomas (also known as Azuzephre). The comic features characters Pon (yellow) and Zi (blue) and a comedic romance between the two. The comic became widely known through the Internet[citation needed]. The characters are widely disseminated through social communities and blogs[citation needed].
